Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
Seaview - the fantastic nuclear submarine.
It is the early 1970's and science has produced a fantastic nuclear underwater submarine - the bainchild of Admiral Harriman Nelson and the submarine has been named, Seaview.
Seaview patrols the depths of the oceans commanded by Captain Lee Crane with a specialised crew and Admiral Nelson, fighting political factions, mad scientists, undersea creatures and aliens from other planets through the 70's and 80's.
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was the first of Irwin Allen's four science fiction based television series.
It ran from 1964 to 1968 with 110 episodes, 32 in black and white and 78 in colour. The storylines were of a high quality and had top guest stars over the series. Seaview incorporated a diving bell, a mini sub and the famous flying sub, FS1, which was first seen at the beginning of the second series, then in colour.
The concept was to thrill the audience, more serious then Lost in Space with less humour, concentrating on the sheer thrill factor for the audience to seek whether the famous nuclear submarine and the crew would survive whoever they were battling.
