Bully For You
Mood:  chatty

Hi everyone, let's stop this rising trend of bullying at work. It's becoming a cancer and needs to be eradicated.

I am fifty years of age and just recently experience a terrifying ordeal of being physically bullied at work. I was working for a large supermarket chain in one of their new smaller convenience stores. It was only part-time for one and a half days a week and everything was fine for the first month or so. Then it started. This line manager would come along and tap me on the heel of my shoe, he would give me a small nudge in the back, he would kick the sole of my shoe when kneeling down. It then escalated to physical bruising, he grabbed the top of my arm and pinched that hard with his fingers he bruised me. He asked me on my last working day, to stick out my arm, roll the sleeve back on my fleece and then grabbed with a bit of skin the hairs on my lower arm and pulled hard. This man had been so vindictive towards me. I resigned.

Not being there twelve months, I have very little statuary rights. I sent a letter to the head office with a catalogue of events. I became ill. My nerves was shattered, I had to receive medical help and counselling, and the bully, as far as I know he is still in his job, and what did he call this bullying: "horsing around!"
